Moesin (for membrane-organizing extension spike protein) is a member of the ERM family which includes ezrin and radixin. ERM proteins appear to function as cross-linkers between plasma membranes and actin-based cytoskeletons. Moesin is localized to filopodia and other membranous protrusions that are important for cell-cell recognition and signaling and for cell movement. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Subcellular Location: Cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cytoplasm, cytoskeleton. Apical cell membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Cell projection, microvillus membrane; Peripheral membrane protein; Cytoplasmic side. Note=Phosphorylated form is enriched in microvilli-like structures at apical membrane. 4% Paraformaldehyde-fixed Jurkat (H) cell; Antibody incubation with (Moesin) monoclonal Antibody, unconjugated (bsm-60653R) 1:100, 90 min at 37°C; followed by conjugated Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG antibody (green, bs-60295G-BF488) at 37°C for 90 min, DAPI (blue, C02-04002) was used to stain the cell nuclei. PBS instead of the primary antibody was used as the blank control.
